The Melbourne Leg Vein Centre specialises in the assessment and management of all
leg vein problems.
The Melbourne Leg Vein Centre is centrally located in Melbourne's CBD, at the top
end of Collins Street within the Professional suites of the Collins Place complex.
Collins Place is situated on the corner of Collins Street and Exhibition Street.
The Professional suites are located on the ground floor behind the glass lifts.
The Melbourne Leg Vein Centre is at suite 14.
Our friendly reception staff are only too happy to answer your enquiries over the
phone or by email or provide printed information.
For your convenience, assessment and treatments are all done at the one location.
The Melbourne Leg Vein Centre has the latest ultrasound based Doppler and colour
flow Duplex ultrasound equipment to help evaluate the exact nature of any vein problem
and identify the most appropriate treatment plan for each individual patient.
The emphasis is on minimally invasive, safe and affordable treatment without hospitalisation
or general anaesthetic and immediate return to normal activity and work.
At the Melbourne Leg Vein Centre we feel that you deserve the highest possible level
of care. All the doctors working at the Melbourne Leg Vein Centre, in addition to
their medical degree have undertaken post graduate training in vascular medicine
and laser medicine procedures. It is important to realise that only experienced
medical practitioners perform leg vein treatments at our clinic.
Car Parking is available at Collins Place directly under our clinic. Entry is from
Flinders Lane ( Enter Flinders Lane from Spring Street end). After parking take
the lift to the Ground Level and our clinic is directly ahead in the Professional
Suites. Your parking ticket can be validated at our Reception to provide a discounted
earlybird rate (~$18 ). There is metered street parking around Collins Place in
Flinders Lane, Collins Street and Exhibition Street but availability can be unpredictable.
The centre is well serviced by public transport with a tram stop out the front of
Collins Place in Collins Street and Parliament Rail Station being around the corner
in Spring Street (~200 metres away).
Dr Patrick Lyons, MB BS (Melb) FRACS
Dr Patrick Lyons is a vascular specialist who has held numerous hospital appointments
including Head of Vascular Surgery at the Royal Hobart Hospital.
Dr Lyons has a particular interest in the treatment of venous diseases notably varicose
vein disorders. He is an expert in all vein treatment technologies including surgery,
laser, radiofrequency and injection (sclerotherapy) techniques.
Dr Lyons is a longstanding Fellow of the Australian College of Surgeons and is also
a Fellow of the Australasian College of Phlebology.
Dr Garth Dicker, MBBS (Melb) BMedSci PhD
Dr Dicker has been working in the fields of laser medicine, cosmetic medicine and
phlebology (vein treatments) for over 20 years. He has an extensive research background
with undergraduate (BMedSci) and post graduate (PhD) research degrees. Dr Dicker
was one of the first medical practitioners to begin laser treatments in Australia,
starting with the treatment of birthmarks using copper vapour laser technology in
1986.
Dr Dicker continues to regularly update on new procedures and techniques from overseas
to ensure the Melbourne Leg Vein Centre are able to offer their patients
the latest available technologies.
Dr Dicker has achieved fellowship status with the American Society of Lasers in
Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS), is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society
of Phlebology and been a member of the American College of Phlebology (ACP) since
1991.
